Ferrari comes to the defense of the Luce after criticism of the brand's first electric car

The launch generated criticism over the design considered different from the brand's traditional standard and also due to the company's decision to invest in a fully electric model, leaving aside the classic gasoline engines. On social media, some users said that the car "doesn't look like a Ferrari."
"There is great interest, including from new customers," said Vigna during an automotive event in Modena, northern Italy.
According to him, Ferrari presented the new model to around 1,600 customers during the launch in Rome, between Monday and Tuesday. Orders began to be accepted on Wednesday.
"We have already received bank transfers. The customers who were there want the car", stated the CEO. He added that the company will release more accurate order numbers in July, along with second-quarter results.
Ferrari shares fell more than 8% on Tuesday as investors and critics reacted to the new electric car. On Wednesday (27), the shares closed stable, but rose again by almost 3% this Thursday.
Vigna stated that many criticisms could change after people get to know the vehicle up close. He also denied comparisons of the Luce with other electric cars on the market, including Chinese models.
"If you see and try the car, you will immediately realize that it was not copied and that it does not look like other electric vehicles, whether in internal, external design or performance," he said.
The executive reinforced that the Luce will be just another option in Ferrari's lineup and that the automaker will continue to produce cars with gasoline and hybrid engines.
Regarding the high price of the model, Vigna stated that the value is justifiable due to the innovation offered by the vehicle.
