The match between Corinthians and Palmeiras, valid for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão under-20, had illustrious presences in the stands at Fazendinha on the afternoon of this Wednesday (08). With reinforcements from Gui Negão and Dieguinho, who are part of Timão's professional squad, Filhos do Terrão are looking to go further in the competition.

The club's football executive, Marcelo Paz, and coach Fernando Diniz went to Parque São Jorge and watched the first game of the duel, which is worth a place in the tournament's semi-final. It is worth remembering that the duo was recently following the under-20s together with football manager Júlio César and other members of the technical committee in the 2-2 draw against Flamengo, in the same national competition.

Corinthians ended the initial phase of the tournament in eighth place with 29 points - eight wins, five draws and five defeats - 31 goals scored and 25 conceded. The rival, in turn, was the leader with 44 points. In the last activity before the Derby, Timãozinho's coach, William Batista, promoted work focused on technical and tactical issues, finishing and positioning on the field.

For this Wednesday's game, Timãozinho had the reinforcements of Gui Negão and Dieguinho, forwards trained in the club's youth categories and who have been playing professionally for some time.

After facing Palmeiras, at home, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Brasileirão U20, Timão returns to focus on the first phase of the Campeonato Paulista in the category. Next Sunday (12), at 10am (Brasília time), Alvinegro visits Portuguesa, at Estádio do Canindé, for the fifth round of the initial stage of the state championship.
