Faustão's wife praises organ donors: "They allow our history"

Luciana Cardoso, 49, wife of Faustão, 76, got emotional when talking about the organ transplants the presenter underwent in recent years.

The journalist's voice choked when she stated that, if it weren't for the donations, he wouldn't have seen his eldest daughter get married, his youngest son turn 18 and the middle one embark on new projects.

"Thanks to the generosity of people who said 'yes', when they were able to make a donation from a family member. The person is already in such a difficult time and still have such great generosity for someone I don't know who they are, for someone I don't know, and let other people continue living", he said in an interview with the Pod Chegar podcast with Silvia Vinhas.

"It's very beautiful. It's generosity that really allows other families to continue having their story", he continued.

The couple has two sons: João Silva, 22, and Rodrigo. He also has Lara, 28, from his previous marriage to artist Magda Colares.

Faustão's first transplant was a heart transplant, in August 2025, after years of heart failure. In February 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant and, in August 2025, the presenter underwent a liver transplant and a kidney retransplant.

Age difference of 27 years
Faustão and Luciana have been married since 2002 and, in the same interview, she said that she felt judged due to the age difference, but that, if it were today, it could be worse.

"Today people have more freedom in the sense of reaching out to the comments of any post and saying what they think and it doesn't have much consequence. I think, back then, it was a little more veiled. There was an adaptation on my part. We're learning to live with the age difference."

Last week, the presenter received his wife's first piece of cake during a party at the couple's home to celebrate the journalist's 49th birthday. This was the first time he appeared after being hospitalized to have a gastric tube removed in mid-June.
