Fans choose the best trios in rock history; see which bands topped the vote

A discussion among rock fans on social media resulted in a list of the most admired trios in the history of the genre. The vote brought together names from different eras and styles, showing how formations with just three members managed to produce some of music's greatest classics. Among the most mentioned groups were Rush, The Police, Nirvana, Cream and ZZ Top. Rush received enormous prominence thanks to the combination of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart. Even with just three musicians, the Canadian band was known for its technical complexity and albums that helped define progressive rock. The Police were also among the favorites.
