Fans choose defender as Corinthians' best player in the first semester
Corinthians fans elected defender Gustavo Henrique as the team's best player in the first half of 2026. The number 13 maintained his regularity throughout the first half of the season and gained the status of an irreplaceable piece in the black and white starting team.
In a poll promoted by Gazeta Esportiva, Fiel Torcida voted heavily for Gustavo Henrique and chose him as Timão's best player in the semester, with 69.35% of the votes.
The other two athletes did not present as much competition for the defender. Rodrigo Garro secured second place by receiving 24.19% of the votes, while Matheus Bidu came in third, with 6.45%. The "Other" option is now set to zero.

Gustavo Henrique's semester
Gustavo Henrique was Corinthians' main player in the first part of the season. The defender has started 30 of the 37 played by Timão in 2026 so far and has achieved a very positive moment, becoming an essential part of the black and white defensive system, whether with Dorival Júnior or Fernando Diniz. Defensively, he is the team's main pillar, excelling mainly in the aerial game.
In the offensive sector, Gustavo Henrique has also been decisive with goals scored. The defender found the net four times in 2026 and is the team's third top scorer in 2026, in addition to having distributed two assists.
Gustavo Henrique is still one of the main leaders of the Corinthians dressing room. In a recent press conference, coach Fernando Diniz said that "with a little more time in Brazilian football", the defender would have a chance to play in the World Cup, not only because of his qualities as a player, but also as a person. He recently completed the milestone of 100 games with the black and white shirt.
Corinthians' next game
