Family consumption grows 1% in the 1st quarter of 2026, points out IBGE

Family consumption rose 1.0% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.

The data was released by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), which announced this Friday (29), the results of the Quarterly National Accounts.

Compared to the first quarter of 2025, household consumption showed an increase of 1.7%.

Government consumption, in turn, rose 0.4% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, reaching a record level in the period.
