Fábio Jr.'s 1988 hit echoes on the soundtrack of the soap opera 'Quem ama custo' in a new chapter in the singer's history with TV

♬ In rotation around Brazil since November 2023 with the tour "Bem mais que os meu 20 e few years", Fábio Jr. has always included the song "Caça e Caçador" in the script for this show retrospective, designed to celebrate the artist's 70th birthday. Especially because the song - a partnership between North American composer and producer Erich Bulling and lyricist Claudio Rabello - is a hit embedded in the emotional memory of the São Paulo singer, composer and actor's followers since Fábio released the original recording of "Caça e Caçador" on the album "Vida", in 1988.
However, now there is additional reason for "Caça e Caçador" to gain a special place in the tour itinerary. The song has been featured on the soundtrack of the soap opera "Quem ama loja", premiered by TV Globo on May 18th at 9pm. When "Caça e Caçador" played on the scene of the protagonist couple Pedro (Chay Suede) and Adriana (Letícia Colin), the soap opera's soundtrack sounded deliciously vintage for those who followed this pop phase of Fábio Jr.'s discography from 1984 onwards.
Born in November 1953, Fábio Corrêa Ayrosa Galvão released three albums on the Som Livre record label, between 1979 and 1982, with a mostly original repertoire. and with real emotions in the singing and in this self-created songbook. However, in 1984, Fábio Jr. signed with CBS, a record company that framed the singer's repertoire within the pop framework of the market at the time. The commercial effect was immediate, with Fábio playing successive songs on radio and TV programs.
That was when the singer began to give voice to songs created by foreign composers accustomed to following the industrialized formula of radio pop, collecting hits with undeniable appeal. "Caça e Caçador" is one of these songs, having become the main hit of the album "Vida", in which the song "Felicidade" also stands out, a Portuguese version of the Italian song "Gente di mare". Due to the success of "Caça e Caçador", the album "Vida" doubled the commercial success of the singer's previous album, "No Limits to Dream", from 1986.
Released 38 years ago, the song has always remained in the itineraries of Fábio Jr.'s shows for the simple fact that "Caça e Caçador" is among the biggest hits of the singer's 50-plus years of career, whose first solo album under the name Fábio Jr. was released in 1976 after the artist abandoned the pseudonym (and repertoire in English) of Mark Davis.
Interestingly, the singer's discography took off through TV, since Fábio's first hit in good Portuguese, the song "Pai", was presented by the actor and singer in 1978, in an episode of the series "Ciranda cirandinha" (TV Globo) and amplified when it was chosen as the theme for the opening of the soap opera "Pai heroic", shown on TV Globo in 1979.
The rest was a story that includes appearances by Fábio Jr. in several soap operas (as an actor and/or as a singer of songs on the soundtracks) and which gains a new chapter with the airing of "Caça e Caçador" on the soundtrack of the soap opera "Quem ama custo".
