F1 drivers will accelerate Lego karts before the 2026 Silverstone GP

Lego assembled 22 karts for the parade of Formula 1 drivers at the Silverstone GP next Sunday (5). Each of the cars uses 28,000 parts and has an electric motor to reach speeds of up to 25 km/h.

"We have always listened to our fans, and it was clear, during the parade of drivers at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, that both fans and drivers wanted more", said Julia Goldin, Director of Product and Marketing at the Lego Group.
If racing cars are known for their lightness, the same cannot be said about go-karts made from Lego. Each car weighs 280 kg, 65 kg of which are just parts for the toy.
The karts were created by 20 design experts and required 6,400 hours of labor to be completed. Each kart uses colors and designs inspired by the bodies of F1 models.
Lego car at 111 km/h
Recently another more complex Lego car caught attention. A full-size replica of Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear, with a body built entirely from Lego bricks, reached a speed of 111 km/h. The vehicle weighs 1,800 kg and set the record for the fastest buildable model ever made by the Danish toy company on the track in Goodwood, England.
The previous mark, from 2018, was 50 km/h and belonged to a Bugatti Chiron also in 1:1 scale.
The project was carried out by the team of Lego model makers in Kladno, Czech Republic, and required more than 9,400 hours of labor to be completed.

The vehicle was made with around 327,000 parts from the Technic line, which correspond to 400 kg of the vehicle, and assembled on a customized metal chassis with a roll cage in accordance with the safety standards of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
The construction uses original carbon fiber wheels from Koenigsegg, tires from Pirelli, real suspension and disc brakes from competition.

To reach the record speed and surpass the brand's previous models, the vehicle was equipped with an electric motor that drives the rear wheels, replacing the original 1,603 horsepower V8 biturbo engine of the real model.
Lego and the Swedish automaker did not reveal technical data of this electric propellant.
A The replica also includes the Swedish automaker's automated system, which allows the doors, hood and engine lid to be opened simultaneously. This way of accessing the car is something characteristic of Koenigsegg.

Several parts of the vehicle were adapted with unusual pieces from the brand, such as components from Star Wars ships in the front headlights, toy train windows in the rear lights and wheel rims from the Ninjago line to simulate the shock absorbers of the real car.
The launch of the The full-size megacar occurred in conjunction with the announcement of a smaller commercial version of the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear in 1:8 scale.
The kit aimed at adults has 4,104 parts and reproduces the mechanical functions of the original vehicle, including the functional V8 piston engine and nine-speed transmission.
