Explosion at aerospace factory leaves five dead in South Korea

Five people died and two others were injured in a fire at a factory operated by South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace 012450.KS in the city of Daejeon, authorities said on Monday.
The two survivors, including one who suffered severe burns, managed to escape the facility on their own, an official said from the fire department at a news conference.
"Authorities have not yet identified the victims because their bodies were severely damaged," a health official said at the same news conference.
A fire department official said an explosion caused the fire, although the cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
Hanwha is a defense and aerospace company. Its factory in Daejeon produces large propulsion engines and handles rocket propellants.

Authorities were unable to obtain the plant's blueprints because it is protected by national security laws, an official said during the briefing.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung called for mobilizing all available resources to respond to the accident and conducting an investigation, his office said in a text message to reporters.
An official at Hanwha Aerospace said that the company is investigating the incident.
