Ex-partner who threw woman off cliff in BH fled and was arrested
The 52-year-old man, who kidnapped, threatened and threw his ex-partner off the cliff in Serra do Rola-Moça, was arrested this Tuesday (26), in Várzea da Palma, in the northern region of Minas Gerais.
The suspect, identified as Silvanildo Amâncio de Araújo, remains in Civil Police custody. After completing the Social Defense Event Registration (Reds), the procedure will be forwarded to the local Civil Police Station, in accordance with legal procedures.
The victim, Ana Claúdia Rodrigues da Silva Souza, aged 41, was rescued alive in Serra do Rola-Moça, in Belo Horizonte, on Tuesday afternoon. She had been missing since Monday (25).

According to the Minas Gerais Military Fire Department, drones and thermal sensors were needed on the first day of searches. On the second day, the location and air rescue were carried out with the help of the corporation's Archangel aircraft (helicopter).
According to the corporation, the victim was rescued conscious and oriented, with no signs of fractures, only with bruises from the fall, which was approximately 50 meters high, the first 10 meters being in a steeper position.
She was then evaluated by the Archangel's crew medical team and received air transportation to HPS João XXIII, where she remains under medical care.
In total, seven land vehicles and a helicopter were mobilized. Around 22 professionals participated in the operation on both days.
