Everton coach wants to help West Ham and relegate Tottenham in English

Even without a real chance of qualifying for European competitions, coach David Moyes admitted he had a special objective in the last round of the Premier League: to help West Ham United escape relegation.

Current Everton commander, Moyes will face Tottenham this Sunday. Spurs start the round two points clear of West Ham, the first team within the relegation zone.

To remain in the English elite, West Ham needs to beat Leeds United and hope for Tottenham to defeat Everton. A draw is enough to save Spurs.

"I would love to keep West Ham in the Premier League if I can," Moyes said on Friday. The coach led the London club for five and a half seasons, in two spells between 2017 and 2024. During this period, he led West Ham to the Conference League title in 2023.

Despite his affection for his former club, Moyes highlighted that his priority will be to seek the best possible position for Everton, who could still finish the season in the top 10 of the Premier League.

"The most important thing is to guarantee the best possible position for Everton and earn a few million pounds more for the final position", he explained.

Tottenham arrives motivated after reacting under the command of coach Roberto De Zerbi. The team has lost just one of its last five games. Everton are going through the opposite moment and haven't won in six matches.
