Euro zone unemployment rate remains stable at 6.2% in May
The unemployment rate in the euro zone remained at 6.2% in May, repeating the level of April, according to seasonally adjusted data released this Thursday (2) by the European Union's official statistics agency, Eurostat.
The result was below the forecast of analysts consulted by FactSet, of 6.3%.
The April data was revised downwards, from 6.3% originally to 6.2%.
Eurostat estimates that there were 10.986 million unemployed people in the eurozone in May. Compared to April, the number of people without work in the region decreased by 55 thousand.
