'Euphoria' creator says Sydney Sweeney insisted on nude scenes

The end of "Euphoria" came to the public last weekend, after eight episodes marked by controversy. One of the main ones revolved around the many sexualized scenes of Sydney Sweeney, who this year played Cassie's journey as an OnlyFans star.

In a conversation with creator and director Sam Levison for the New York Times, he commented that he considered treating the actress' plot without nude scenes, but she insisted on keeping them. "When I wrote the script, I thought, 'Maybe we'll film this whole thing without nudity, maybe there are ways around certain things?' And she looked at me and said, 'Are you kidding? I'm playing an OnlyFans model. Are you telling me you're going to find a way around this?'" he told the New York newspaper.

Among the scenes starring the actress, she also starred in a frontal nude in a hot scene with Home Gere. "She is a completely fearless actress. Furthermore, she is extremely professional and always willing to do anything", she added in the conversation.

At the same time that Cassie's journey revolves around being a model of sensual content, other protagonists such as Jules (Hunter Schafer) and Rue (Zendaya) also orbited the sexual, one as a sugar baby and the other working in a strip club. When asked about the characters' similar themes, Levinson reflects: "I think it's a byproduct of the culture and what's going on in terms of social media. I think it's all light forms of prostitution."
