EU says US tariffs based on forced labor are unjustified

The European Commission stated this Wednesday (3) that the trade tariffs proposed by the United States, based on the failure to effectively ban imports of products made with forced labor, are unjustified and reiterated its commitment to the trade agreement signed with Washington last year.

"The EU considers tariffs imposed for these reasons to be unjustified," a spokesperson said. "On the EU side, we are on track to ensure the implementation of the tariff commitments in our Joint Declaration by the end of June."
