EU confirms elimination of tariffs on US industrial products
The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, confirmed this Wednesday morning (1st) the elimination of tariffs on imports of industrial products from the United States.
In a post on social media, von der Leyen said the end of these fees "is good news for transatlantic trade."

The spokesperson also stated in the publication that the elimination of tariffs is a reminder that the transatlantic relationship between the EU and the US continues to be the most valuable in the world. "We will continue to build on it."
As CNN showed, the European Parliament approved, on June 16, the reduction of duties on several imports of North American products in order to fulfill the EU's part of the trade agreement signed last year and avoid a new round of tariff conflicts between the world's largest trading partners.
US President Donald Trump struck a deal with the European Union at his golf course in Turnberry, Scotland, last July, under which the EU agreed to remove import duties on US industrial goods and grant preferential access to US agricultural products in exchange for 15% US tariffs on most EU products.
Almost 11 months after this agreement, the EU had still not passed legislation to implement these reductions. Trump has threatened to impose "much higher" tariffs if the EU doesn't act by July 4.
Last week, EU governments adopted legislation to remove import duties on several US products.
