Ethics Commission recommends continuation of Stabile's impeachment
- By Lucas Barreiros/Central do Timão Editorial
The Corinthians Ethics Committee unanimously recommended the continuation of the impeachment process against Osmar Stabile, president of the club. The process, which is still in its infancy, has the opinion drafting phase as its next step. The information was initially released by journalist Pedro Ramiro, and confirmed by the report from Central do Timão.
It is worth remembering that the acting president of the Deliberative Council Leonardo Pantaleão had already signed the document that recognizes the initial admissibility of the request filed by counselors and associates and determined its processing as provided for in the black and white statute. The black and white representative was notified today about the deadline for defense.

Understand the case
A group of Corinthians advisors and associates formalized, on April 15, a request for impeachment against president Osmar Stabile, alleging a series of statutory and legal violations that, according to the authors, compromise the institutional integrity, administrative transparency and financial health of the club.
The document, to which Central do Timão had access and which was forwarded to the Deliberative Council, maintains that the current management engages in practices classified as irregular and reckless, based on the club's Statute, the General Sports Law and provisions of the Civil Code. Among the main points raised, the use of assets as collateral in financial operations without statutory support, transparency failures, administrative omissions and signs of poor resource management stand out.
The document states that the absence of these procedures constitutes a direct violation of the Statute and creates a relevant property risk, since, in the event of default, the asset can be foreclosed in court. Advisors classify the decision as an act of "reckless management", with the potential to compromise one of the club's most symbolic assets.
Allegations of lack of transparency and legal non-compliance
Another point in the complaint concerns the alleged lack of transparency in management. The text points out that the board has repeatedly ignored formal requests from advisors and associates on sensitive topics, such as maintenance of Neo Química Arena, administrative structure, contracts and internal policies.
Among the unanswered requests are questions about the deterioration of the arena due to maintenance failures, the replacement of the real estate fund administrator linked to the stadium, the existence of "ghost employees", ticket distribution criteria, hiring an armed security company and the use of data in the Timão Census. The lack of answers to these questions also motivated, a few weeks ago, a letter from the licensed president of the Corinthians Deliberative Council Romeu Tuma Júnior, as revealed by Central do Timão.
For the authors, the failure to provide clarifications violates governance principles and provisions of the General Sports Law that require active transparency and accountability on the part of club directors.
The request also mentions public statements by the president himself recognizing the existence of employees who were paid without performing effective functions. According to the document, the admission reinforces signs of administrative inefficiency and possible diversion of resources, characterizing poor financial management. Advisors argue that maintaining an inflated structure directly affects the club's financial balance and compromises investments in essential areas.
Another reason presented is the failure to comply with legal deadlines for publishing the financial statements. According to the request, the club has not disclosed its balance sheets within the expected period, which prevents inspection by members and contravenes applicable rules by analogy to the Corporations Law, in addition to violating the General Sports Law.
The absence of updated accounting information, according to the document, creates insecurity, makes decision-making difficult and weakens institutional credibility.
The authors maintain that the acts attributed to the president qualify as irregular or reckless management, under the terms of sports legislation, and may imply personal and unlimited responsibility on the part of the manager. The text also mentions the possibility of holding other members of the administration jointly and severally liable for failure to perform oversight duties.
Requests presented to the Deliberative Council
In view of the facts, the advisors and members demand the immediate initiation of the impeachment process, the precautionary removal of the president, "in order to guarantee the smoothness of the investigation process and avoid the continuity of acts harmful to the club", as well as the rigorous investigation of the irregularities highlighted and the application of the sanctions provided for in the Bylaws and current legislation, ensuring the full right to defense.
In the assessment of the signatories, Marcelo Kahan Mandel, Antonio Roque Citadini, Fernando Perino, Yun Ki Lee, Peterson Ruan Aiello do Couto Ramos, José Augusto Mendes, Alexandre Germano, Cyrillo Cavalheiro Neto and Wilson Canhedo Jr., the conduct attributed to the current management represents a rupture with fundamental principles of legality, transparency and administrative responsibility. The impeachment request, according to the group, seeks to preserve Corinthians' assets, governance and credibility in the face of a situation considered critical for the club. When contacted, President Osmar Stabile stated that he will only speak out when formally notified.
