Ethics Commission notifies Osmar Stabile and asks for clarification on statement involving Corinthians advisors

The president of the Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Corinthians Deliberative Council, Leonardo Pantaleão, sent this Tuesday (16) a letter to the club's president, Osmar Stabile, requesting formal clarification on a public statement attributed to the agent involving the list of advisors with contracts signed by the club.
Central do Timão had access to the document, issued after demonstrations forwarded to the Commission by associates and members of the Deliberative Council who questioned the scope and foundations of the sentence attributed to Stabile. According to the order, the president would have stated, when dealing with issues related to the governance and institutional dynamics of Corinthians, that "each advisor has a contract under their arm", a statement that generated doubts and repercussions among members of the association and fans.

In the Ethics Committee's assessment, the breadth of the expression used generated questions about the possible existence of contractual ties maintained by counselors with the club, directly or indirectly, as well as about possible consequences of these relationships in the exercise of their statutory functions. Given this, Pantaleão states that clarifications are necessary to ensure adequate understanding of the facts and preserve institutional security in relations between Corinthians bodies.
In the letter, the Commission requests that Stabile detail the context in which the statement was made, explain the meaning of the expression used and inform whether the statement referred to concrete situations or was merely generic in nature. It also asks for clarification on the elements that would have supported the speech, if it had been based on specific facts.
The order goes further and establishes a series of questions related to the possible existence of contracts involving advisors. If the declaration made reference to actually existing contractual relationships, the Commission requires that the advisors involved, the related individuals or legal entities, the contracts or legal instruments mentioned, their respective objects, validity periods and financial values be identified. It also requests information about whether the ties would be current or past and whether the president believes there are situations of potential conflict of interest in the club.
The Ethics Committee emphasizes, however, that the opening of the file does not represent any prior judgment on the facts. According to the document, the measure is exclusively informative and seeks to bring together elements that allow an adequate understanding of the public declaration and its possible institutional repercussions for Corinthians.
At the end of the order, Leonardo Pantaleão determines that Osmar Stabile sends the requested clarifications within five days from receipt of the notification.
President Osmar Stabile is also the target of two impeachment requests at Corinthians. The first of them has already been admitted and forwarded to the Ethics Committee, which granted time for the president to present documents related to the case. The Timão Central found that the agent sent the requested material last Saturday (13), and the documentation is currently being analyzed by the members of the collegiate.
