Episodes of "Jaspion" are made available for free after actor's death

The series "The Fantastic Jaspion" had some episodes available for free on YouTube, in honor of the actor Hikaru Kurosaki, who died last Thursday (2) at the age of 64.

The Sato Company, responsible for distributing the production in Brazil, published the videos to celebrate the artist's legacy in the country, where the series was very successful.

The playlist was available on the TokuSato channel until July 16th, with dubbed and subtitled episodes. Watch here.

"The Fantastic Jaspion" was produced between 1985 and 1986, and is part of a style called tokusatsu, with lots of adventure, action and costumed stuntmen. Other series such as "Jiraiya" and "Jiban" emerged from this type. In Brazil, it debuted in 1988, on the now extinct Rede Manchete.

Death of the protagonist
Hikaru Kurosaki had his death announced by a friend, Masaki Sekiguchi, through social media.

"We announce, with regret, the passing of Mr. Kurosaki, from the operator Mother Earth, member of the Motobu City Diving Association. As Mr. Kurosaki lived alone, we send this statement to inform companies and partners in the sector", wrote Sekiguchi.

The professional worked as a stuntman in Japan before playing Jaspion. The plot was about an orphan boy raised by the prophet Edin, who is chosen to fight against the evil Satan Goss, who promises to dominate all the planets in the galaxy.

"SATO Company deeply regrets the death of Japanese actor and stuntman Hikaru Kurosaki, immortalized in Brazil for his main role in "The Fantastic Jaspion".

Originally aired between 1985 and 1986, "O Fantástico Jaspion" became a Japanese pop culture phenomenon in Brazil. In the series, Kurosaki plays a young warrior who travels through space alongside the android Anri (Kiyomi Tsukada) to face intergalactic threats.

The playlist is available for free on the TokuSato YouTube channel until July 16, with dubbed and subtitled episodes."
