"Enola Holmes 3": cast reveals behind the scenes of new film

In addition to marking a new phase for Enola Holmes on screen, the third film in the franchise was also special behind the scenes. In an interview given exclusively to CNN Brasil, part of the cast and the director, Philip Barantini, shared what it was like to follow the evolution of the story over the years and revealed details of the dynamics between the cast during recording.

For actor Henry Cavill, who has played Sherlock Holmes since the first film, his relationship with Millie Bobby Brown - the actress who plays the protagonist - evolved in a very similar way to that of their characters.

"Millie and I already have a kind of our own language at this point. We joke a lot on set, and the relationship is really like that of siblings. We don't take it easy when we're making fun of each other. It's a really fun filming environment," said the actor.

Cavill also praised the trajectory of his colleague, who today serves as producer of the film, in addition to her outstanding performance.

"It's wonderful to see how much she's evolved and how she's building her career beyond acting. I'm very proud of her," he said.

The British star also highlighted that he always enjoys returning to the Sherlock Holmes universe. "It's a really fun character to play. I'm never on set for the whole production, I'm usually on set for five or six weeks, and this time it was even less. But it's really nice to get into the story, to be part of Enola's journey and also Millie's own journey."

Helena Bonham Carter, interpreter of Eudoria Holmes, also highlighted her relationship with Brown.

"She is a true phenomenon. She is the one who drives all of this, from developing the idea to making the project happen", said the actress. Helena stated that the partnership between the two always happened very naturally:

"We had a lot of fun playing mother and daughter. I always felt very comfortable with her and I think we are similar in many ways. We are quite impulsive and can talk for hours."

Director Philip Barantini also spared no praise for the protagonist.

"I think there are two types of actors: those who come in with a very specific idea of what they're going to do and simply play the scene, and those who react to what's going on around them. Those are the actors I most enjoy working with. They know the text, they know the lines, but they really listen and respond to the moment. Millie is exactly that kind of actress."

Finally, the filmmaker highlighted the evolution of Louis Partridge, who returns to play Tewkesbury in the new film.

"It was very special to follow his growth as an actor. Both Louis and Tewkesbury himself have matured a lot."

According to the filmmaker, some of the most emotional scenes came precisely when he gave the actor the freedom to react naturally during filming.

"There were times when I just put the camera close to his face, put on some music and let him feel that moment and see what happened. Louis, in particular, was very emotional. It was incredible to watch. We were all behind the monitors and ended up emotional too."
