English newspaper names Palmer and Foden out of England at World Cup

After Harry Maguire anticipated England's own cut for the World Cup, other big names should also be left out of the England squad for the World Cup.

According to the newspaper The Guadian, in addition to leaving the Manchester United defender out of the final list, coach Thomas Tuchel will also not include Phil Foden and Cole Palmer among the 26 chosen for the World Cup.

And these absences should not be the only surprises. The English publication also stated that Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United midfielder, will be on the list. Two other names that may appear are Ivan Toney, Al-Ahli striker, and Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa striker.

England's official squad will be announced this Friday (22), at Wembley.

Maguire "shocked"
Defender Harry Maguire revealed, this Thursday (21), that he was left out of England's list for the World Cup and said he was "shocked" by coach Thomas Tuchel's decision.

"I was confident that I could play an important role for my country this summer after the season I had. I was shocked and devastated by the decision," wrote the 33-year-old defender.

Maguire has 66 caps for England and was an important part of the team in the last major international competitions.

The defender was being considered as an almost certain name in the squad after a season of recovery at Manchester United. The defender helped the club finish the Premier League in third place and secure a place in the next edition of the Champions League.
