The England delegation was met with hostility upon arriving at their hotel in Mexico City, where they face one of the World Cup hosts in the round of 16 this Sunday. The English intended to keep their location a secret after Mexican fans used loudspeakers, horns and motorcycles to disturb the sleep of Ecuador players before the second phase match.

When the England bus arrived at the hotel, hundreds of fans booed the vehicle and others chanted "Mexico". Security was reinforced around the hotel following incidents involving Ecuadorians. In addition, four people during the celebrations of Mexico's classification over Ecuador.
