England dominates and beats Costa Rica in the last friendly before the World Cup
England defeated Costa Rica 3-0 this Wednesday (10), in Orlando, in the European team's last friendly before their World Cup debut. Declan Rice, Anthony Gordon and Ollie Watkins scored England's winning goals.
The team led by Thomas Tuchel controlled the action from the beginning and opened the scoring just nine minutes into the first half. After receiving a pass on the left side of the box, Rice finished with his left foot to put the English ahead.
In the final stage, Gordon increased the score with a penalty kick. The newly-signed Barcelona striker brilliantly hit the top right corner past goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira, who was unable to prevent the goal.
The third goal came in the final stretch of the match. In the 42nd minute of the second half, Ollie Watkins took advantage of a rebound inside the small area and headed it into the back of the net, giving final results to the match.
