Enem 2026: find out what automatic registration will be like

Students who are completing high school in the public education network will be automatically enrolled in the Enem (National High School Exam) from the 2026 edition onwards.

The measure, made official through an ordinance published by the MEC (Ministry of Education), aims to increase student participation and strengthen the use of the exam in the Saeb (Basic Education Assessment System).

With the change, graduates will no longer need to go through the traditional process of filling out the registration form from scratch.

Instead, Inep (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira) will directly use existing registration data sent by the state and municipal education networks themselves to enroll all students in their third year.

The role of the student in the new system
Although registration is generated automatically by the government, students will still need to complete a validation step on the Participant Page. The candidate must access the system only to:

- Confirm your interest in participating in the exam;

- Choose the foreign language option (English or Spanish);

- Request accessibility resources or specialized service, if necessary.

It is worth remembering that the automation of the process eliminates the need to request exemption from the registration fee, which was already a right guaranteed to the majority of these students, reducing bureaucracy in access to the test.

Exams at the school itself and transport logistics
To absorb the increase in the volume of participants resulting from automatic registration, Inep announced a significant expansion in the exam infrastructure. Around 10,000 new schools will be integrated as application sites.

The MEC's expectation is that 80% of public school students take the tests in the same teaching unit where they already study, minimizing the need for long journeys.

For specific cases of students who need to travel to other cities to take the exam, the ministry informed that the creation of a logistical transport support plan is in the analysis phase.
