End of the 6×1 scale: We do not find space for dialogue with the government, says CNI

The private sector "effectively" found no space to discuss the issue of the 6×1 scale with the federal government, according to the president of the CNI (National Confederation of Industry), Ricardo Alban.

Unlike other topics, the businessman stated in an exclusive interview with CNN Brasil that "dialogue was previously possible."

Alban defended that the discussions be more in-depth, and reported that he had conversations with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and the rapporteur of the proposal that reduces working hours, federal deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA).

However, he regretted the "hasty" processing of the text, arguing that even the ventilated transition rule is insufficient for the sector to adapt to such a sudden change.

Hugo said this Monday (25) that the proposal to end the 6×1 scale will determine a 40-hour work week and a transition period of one year.

In a meeting this morning with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), a two-hour reduction in weekly working hours was agreed upon 60 days after the promulgation of the new rule. Then, after 12 months, a maximum working day of 40 hours must be implemented.
