Emmy 2026: "Stranger Things" and "Love Story" actor are snubbed
The Emmy Awards announced this Wednesday (8) the complete list of productions nominated for this year's award. With several records and historical innovations, the 78th edition also featured snubbed series and actors.
At the top of the titles that were least recognized, the final season of "Stranger Things" appears in first place. Although the production was nominated in visual effects, makeup and behind-the-scenes categories, the actors and direction by Matt and Ross Duffer did not stand out to the award curators.
Still in the drama and suspense categories, "Industry", produced by HBO, was completely left out of this year's list of voters. The dramatic narrative about the British financial universe is already in its fourth season, and none have managed to win an Emmy nomination so far.
Among the actors, Paul Anthony Kelly was the least recognized of the year. In recent months, the artist has been one of the most rated for his performance as John F. Kennedy in the acclaimed series "Love Story".
Although the protagonist was left out of the awards, Sarah Pidgeon, who played the love interest, Carolyn Bessette, is competing in the category of Best Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology Series or TV Film.

In contrast to the year's snubs, "The Pitt" received 25 nominations, almost reaching the number of nominations that "Ruptura" received last year and becoming the production that is most competing in this edition.
The comedy series "Hacks" also met expectations by receiving 24 nominations and leading the ranking of most outstanding comedy series in Emmy history.
In 2026, the event that honors the best productions launched on TV and streaming last year will have Mariska Hargitay, 62, as presenter of the awards ceremony - a historic feat for the awards. The official broadcast is scheduled to take place on September 14th, starting at 9pm (Brasília time).
