Corinthians coach, Emily Lima, is taking advantage of the break in the Brazilian women's football calendar to continue her professional development. The Brabas commander is in Spain participating in a stage of the FIFA mentoring program aimed at coaches who work or seek a place in high-performance women's football.

Emily has been part of the initiative since 2025, a project created by football's highest governing body with the aim of expanding the development of women in technical positions and strengthening the female presence in the leadership of professional teams.

The program brings together trainers from different countries and promotes an exchange of experiences between professionals from different cultures. In addition to technical and methodological improvement, the action seeks to create a support network between participants and experts in the field.

During the mentoring process, Emily Lima is supported by Iraia Iturregi, a former Spanish national team player and current member of Spain's technical committee. The forecast is that Iraia will visit Brazil in the second semester to follow in person some of the work carried out by the coach at Corinthians.

According to FIFA, the initiative has three main objectives: developing the capabilities of participating coaches, offering tools to expand their professional training and creating connections between professionals involved in global women's football.

This is not Emily's first activity within the program in 2026. At the beginning of the season, before taking over Corinthians, the coach participated in a stage held in London during the Champions Cup. The project also features the participation of Arthur Elias, former Corinthians coach and current coach of the Brazilian Women's National Team, who acts as a mentor to Mexican coach Vanessa Martinez.

Emily Lima arrived at Corinthians at the end of February 2026 to replace Lucas Piccinato in command of the women's team. Since her arrival, the coach has accumulated 11 victories in 16 matches played in charge of Brabas.

With the calendar at a standstill due to the World Cup, Corinthians granted 15 days of vacation to the women's squad. While the athletes complete their rest period, Emily takes advantage of the break to continue her international training.

The group's re-presentation is scheduled for Thursday (25). The return will take place before the season continues, which will have as its next official match the duel against Ferroviária, for the Campeonato Paulista Feminino, scheduled for Friday (July 17th), at Neo Química Arena.
