Emilia Clarke admits frustration after losing Emmy: "Devastated"

Emilia Clarke, who played Princess Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones", admitted to being upset and frustrated after losing an Emmy for the role.

In 2019, shortly after the controversial end of production, the actress competed in the category of best performance in a drama series. The statuette, however, went to Jodie Cormer, awarded for her performance as the Russian psychopath Villanelle in "Killing Eve".

She was so upset that she skipped the post-Emmy parties and went home. "I'm embarrassed to admit that not winning an Emmy was really significant," he said in an interview with the American magazine Variety.

Clarke said that the expectation for the award was exacerbated by the repercussions of Daenerys' death at the end of the series, which left the actress herself "furious".

She compared her own behavior "to that of a 13-year-old teenager". "I don't like that person," he recalled.

In the interview, the actress also said that, after the end of "Game of Thrones", she dedicated herself to redefining what success means in her life.

The first step was to say "no" more often and then accept a role even for no great reason. "My connection with a project ends when they say: 'end of filming'. Because it's not up to me to decide what people will think of it."

Clarke also refuted rumors that the main cast of the series earned R$1.5 million per episode. "Imagine? I'd be driving some Porsches."
