Elinho ends the season as NBB's assists leader for the fifth consecutive time

Corinthians Basquete point guard Elinho finished the 2025/2026 Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) season at the top of the competition's assist ranking. For the fifth consecutive edition, the player was the athlete who distributed the most passes to baskets during the national championship.
Throughout the campaign, Elinho accumulated 399 assists in 44 matches played, reaching an average of 9.1 assists per game. The number placed the Corinthians point guard ahead of Alexei, from Flamengo, who registered 8.8 assists per match in 12 games, and Matheusinho, from Botafogo, with an average of 6.4 in 41 appearances.

Elinho's leadership streak in this regard began in the 2021/2022 season, when he was still playing for São Paulo. On that occasion, the point guard finished as the NBB's main assistant for the first time, averaging 6.3 decisive passes per game.
The following year, again for the São Paulo club, he maintained his performance and closed the 2022/2023 season with an average of 7.2 assists per match. In 2023/2024, his first cycle with Corinthians, Elinho reached his then-best mark, with 9.1 assists per game.
In 2024/2025, the point guard once again surpassed his numbers and recorded 9.3 assists per match, maintaining the lead in the competition's ranking.
In the history of the NBB, Elinho also ranks first among the greatest assistants in the competition. The player has 3,145 assists throughout his career, averaging 6.0 per game. Wearing the Corinthians shirt, there are 1,514 decisive passes, with an average of 8.5 assists per game.
Elinho's best individual performance of the season came on April 9, against Paulistano. In the match, the point guard distributed 15 assists in 40 minutes on the court and also surpassed the mark of three thousand decisive passes in the NBB, expanding his advantage as the greatest waiter in the history of the tournament.
The player's performance was one of the factors that helped Corinthians achieve their best campaign in the history of the NBB. Under the command of coach Jece Leite, the team reached the semi-finals of the competition, a stage in which they were eliminated by Pinheiros after a series decided in four games.
With the end of the season, Corinthians Basquete begins planning for the next cycle. The sport's board informed that there will be a review of the team's budget, but reinforced that the project will remain active and that there is no plan for the end of basketball activities at Parque São Jorge.
