Elderly people killed in BH: Civil Police carry out new inspection of the couple's apartment
A new examination was carried out in the apartment of the elderly couple who were found dead in the São Pedro neighborhood, in the center-south region of Belo Horizonte. The investigation was carried out by PCMG (Civil Police of Minas Gerais) this Monday (6).
The objective of the investigation is to confirm whether an object other than the hunting knife was used by day laborer Paola Stefany Neto Cirino, aged 30, who confessed to having killed Cláudio Atala, aged 75, and Maria Clotilde Atala, aged 76.
The information that Paola used a knife to carry out the crime is contained in the decision of judge Juliana Beretta Kirche Ferreira Pinto, communicated after the custody hearing, which was held last Friday (3). The confession of the crime occurred during the arrest of the day laborer, on Wednesday (1).

According to information provided to Itatiaia for CNN Brasil, police agents are analyzing the possibility that another weapon was used at the time of the murders. For the investigation, police officers will use luminol, a substance capable of identifying traces of blood even after being sanitized.
The corporation also intends to carry out a reconstruction of the crime in the coming days, with the aim of clarifying the commission of the crime.
Itatiaia also released a note sent by PCMG, claiming that, despite the information identifying the murder weapon being a knife, other information can only be shared at the end of the investigation.

"Information related to the evidence collected, including any location, identification or characteristics of the weapon used, as well as hypotheses about the dynamics of the crime, will be disclosed at the end of the investigation."
There is an expectation that the corporation's investigation will be completed within 10 days after the arrest of the suspect. However, the deadline may be extended if further steps are necessary.
