Efforts to prevent further attacks between the US and Iran are advancing, sources say

A series of diplomatic efforts in Tehran aimed at preventing a resumption of fighting between the United States and Iran are moving forward, according to sources close to the negotiations.

One regional source said "things are moving on a positive trajectory", while another described the latest developments as "promising".

A third source with knowledge of the talks said "the impasse is over", although it is not yet clear whether this refers to the blockade over key issues such as Iran's uranium stockpiles, or just the text of a memorandum aimed at avoiding further confrontation.

The comments come after Iranian negotiators met with both Pakistan's military chief and Qatari representatives.

On the American side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested this Saturday (23) that there could be important developments with Iran.

"There may be news later today. I have no news for you right now, but there may be some news a little later today. There may not be. I hope there will be, but I'm not sure yet," Rubio said during a working visit to India.
