Éderson presents himself to the Seleção, and Neymar undergoes pre-World Cup exams
Defender Éderson, called up by the Brazilian team to replace Wesley, reported to Canarinho this Monday (8) and is at The Ridge hotel with the squad.
The player was chosen to replace the 22-year-old right-back, who suffered a muscle injury to the adductor of his left thigh in the friendly with Egypt last Saturday (6) and was cut from the squad.
Before joining the squad list for the World Cup, the Atalanta midfielder had been called up by Carlo Ancelotti to defend the Seleção in just one opportunity, in June 2025. Despite the call-up, Éderson was not called up by the coach.
In general numbers, the player has played three games for Canarinho, between 2024 and 2025, and has played 107 minutes on the field.
Neymar undergoes tests
According to a statement released by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), striker Neymar underwent tests this Monday. However, the result of the analysis has not yet been reported.
The number 10 for Santos and the Seleção is recovering from a grade 2 muscle injury in his right calf.
