Ece Irtem: forensic report indicates cause of death of Turkish actress at 35
The preliminary report from Turkey's Institute of Forensic Medicine suggests that a heart attack may have been the cause of Turkish actress Ece Irtem's death. The information is from CNN Türkiye.
The 35-year-old artist had become known in Brazil for her role in the Turkish soap opera "One Love", which was translated into Portuguese as "Coração de Mãe" and shown on TV Record in January. Ece Irtem was found dead on June 15 this year.
The report stated that no signs of beating, poisoning or trauma that could have led to death were found on the body. However, the definitive conclusion should be released after further investigation.
Suspected monkey bite
Although initial suspicions pointed to a heart attack, Ece Irtem's lawyer asked for an autopsy to examine the possibility that the actress had died from a monkey bite.
The actress had three scars on her left arm, and family members explained that she had been bitten by a monkey during a recent trip to Thailand, raising the possibility of sepsis (a widespread infection).
Investigations are ongoing in Türkiye for the presentation of a final report.
