Duo suspected of producing and selling fake World Cup stickers arrested in RJ

Two women suspected of selling packages of fake 2026 World Cup stickers were arrested, this Wednesday (17), in Patience, in the West zone of Rio de Janeiro. According to the police, the duo sold the package with stickers for R$15, containing a complete selection for the buyer to choose from.

The duo was arrested after the police team monitored the condominium where one of the suspects was making sales. During the approach, the woman was found with three packages of stickers, when she also stated the participation of a second suspect in the scheme.

According to the police, the suspects began producing the stickers at home, after obtaining digital models of the stickers and envelopes in an advertisement posted on social media. During the production process, one of the suspects was responsible for cutting out and packaging the figurines.

The material found by the police was seized and the pair were taken to the police station. The case continues to be investigated to identify the suppliers of the digital files and map the extent of the irregular material distribution network.
