Matheus Donelli's loan period to Shabab Al Ahli, from the United Arab Emirates, is nearing its end and should result in the goalkeeper's return to Corinthians for the remainder of the season. The temporary relationship between the parties ends at the end of June, after just over four months without the archer taking the field for the Middle East team.

Announced by Corinthians at the beginning of February, the negotiation aimed to provide more minutes to the player, who had lost space in the black and white squad. However, Donelli was never used in official matches during his time in Emirati football.

Throughout the period in which he was linked to Shabab Al Ahli, the goalkeeper also did not appear among those listed for the team's commitments. The few public appearances took place in records released by the club itself during the squad's trips and activities.

The local season ended in May. Shabab Al Ahli finished the national league in second place, behind Al-Ain, but guaranteed a place in the next edition of the Asian Champions League. Even with the calendar completed, Donelli did not accumulate minutes on the field.

According to information released by Meu Timão, Corinthians did not receive notifications about problems involving the athlete during the loan. The transfer process included all the necessary documentation to work in the country, including obtaining a work visa and undergoing medical examinations.

The period also coincided with situations that impacted football in the region. In addition to Ramadan, which changes the operating routine in several sectors of the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East has experienced moments of geopolitical instability in recent months, which has led to changes in sporting competitions and postponement of matches in different countries in the region.

Revealed by Corinthians' youth teams, Donelli had been without space in the main squad since last season. Before the transfer, he occupied a position behind Hugo Souza, Kauê and Felipe Longo in the goalkeeping hierarchy.

His last appearance on a related list took place in 2025. Since then, the club was looking for alternatives so that the player could gain rotation on another team.

With the end of the loan, the tendency is for Matheus Donelli to return to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava to define his future with Corinthians. The goalkeeper's contract with the Parque São Jorge club remains valid until December 2028.
