Actor Donald Gibb died at the age of 71 on Tuesday night (12). He became known for playing Frederick "Ogre" Palowaski, from "Revenge of the Nerds", in addition to acting in "The Great White Dragon".
Gibb's son, Travis, confirmed the death to TMZ and said that the actor died at home in Texas, surrounded by his family, after health complications.

Born in New York on August 4, 1954, Gibb was raised in California. He attended the University of New Mexico on a basketball scholarship before transferring to the University of San Diego, where he played football. His athletic talent briefly took him to the NFL, where he played for the San Diego Chargers, until a car accident changed his path to Hollywood.
In 1988's "The Great White Dragon," Gibb plays flamboyant American wrestler Ray "Tiny" Jackson. In the film, the character functions as a slightly comical foil to Jean-Claude Van Damme's tense and introspective Frank Dux, as they both participate in Kumite, an underground martial arts tournament held in the legendary Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong.
The film was a huge success and became a classic of the martial arts genre. Gibb was the only actor from "The Great White Dragon" to reprise his character in the 1996 sequel.
In the comedy "Revenge of the Nerds," Gibb used his burly build and physical presence to great comedic effect. The scene where your character shouts "Nerds!" for members of the Tri-Lambs fraternity was marked in the franchise.
The actor also made small appearances in "The X-Files", "Seinfield", "U.S. Marshals", "Cheers" and "Hancock".
