▶ New Brazilian inflation data is in the spotlight this Friday. The Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA) rose 0.58% in May, decelerating compared to April (0.67%). The data reinforces the expectation for next week's Super Wednesday, when the Central Bank of Brazil (BC) and the Federal Reserve (Fed, the American BC) announce their interest rate decisions.
The data is important because the higher the inflation and the signs that prices should rise, the greater the chance that the BC will interrupt the cycle of cuts and keep the basic rate (Selic) unchanged. Interest rates at high levels for longer tend to limit inflation and slow down the economy.
▶ Signs of progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran are also on the radar and bring relief to oil. The day before, American President Donald Trump stated that the "final points" of an agreement with Tehran had been approved and indicated that the signing could take place as early as this weekend. The Middle Eastern country, however, still denies a final decision - which has increased skepticism in the market regarding a quick or definitive resolution of the conflict.
With the easing of tensions, the barrel of Brent, an international reference, fell 3.80% around 8:45 am, quoted at US$ 86.95. West Texas Intermediate (WTI), from the USA, fell 4.07% at the same time, to US$ 84.14 per barrel.

Signs of progress in negotiations between the US and Iran
Indications that the United States and Iran have returned to negotiating began yesterday afternoon. President Donald Trump called off attacks on Iran after negotiators reached a consensus on "final points" to end the war in the Middle East and stated that a treaty could be signed as early as the weekend. Also according to Trump, Tehran would have agreed to the commitment not to seek nuclear weapons and to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while Washington would put an end to the naval blockade on the channel.
Despite this, the Iranian government again denied that a final decision had been made and classified the news on the issue as "speculative" - which increased market skepticism about a quick or definitive resolution of the conflict.
According to Tehran, although much of the text of the agreement is in fact ready, Washington would have made excessive demands.
"Iran does not, in this text, make any commitment to cede management of the Strait [of Hormuz], nor to restore the conditions that existed before the American and Israeli military aggression", reported the Islamic Republic's news agency (IRNA), the day before.
"Iran will negotiate the nuclear program exclusively within the framework of the fundamental principles of the Islamic Republic, and issues such as Iran's right to enrich uranium and the retention of enriched material [...] will be emphasized with a view to its inclusion in the final agreement", added the agency. (R$8.93 trillion). With this market value, Elon Musk's company would occupy eighth place among the most valuable companies in the world.
Wall Street investors' strong bet on SpaceX may seem contradictory. Despite being about to carry out the biggest IPO in history, with an estimated fundraising of US$75 billion (R$382.6 billion), the company is still operating in the red.
In 2025, revenue of US$18.7 billion (R$95.3 billion) was not enough to avoid a net loss of US$4.9 billion (R$24.9 billion).
According to experts consulted by g1, optimism on the part of investors is explained by the change in the way the market sees SpaceX. See more in this report:
