▶ With no major highlights on the economic agenda, investors remain attentive to negotiations between the United States and Iran. The day before, two commercial ships and an oil tanker were hit by missiles in the Strait of Hormuz region, according to the British maritime agency UKMTO. According to the American website Axios, the bombing was carried out by Iran.
The attacks once again raise doubts about the duration and effectiveness of the ceasefire agreed between Washington and Tehran, and could increase concerns about a new interruption of traffic in the Strait, through which around 20% of all oil sold in the world passes.
▶The meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is also in the markets' sights. The meeting, which begins this Tuesday (7) in Ankara, Turkey, takes place at a time when the members of the alliance are arguing among themselves and in which Ukraine demands help to contain Russia's firepower.
▶ In addition, the developments of the tariff are also on the radar. At the beginning of this month, large companies such as Tesla, Coca-Cola, Nestlé and eBay spoke out against the tariffs imposed by the American government on Brazil, warning of negative impacts on competitiveness, supply chains and the pockets of consumers in the United States if the barriers are adopted.
▶Investors also continue to wait for the minutes of the last interest rate meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (Fomc), of the Federal Reserve (Fed, the American central bank). The document, scheduled to be released tomorrow (8), should contain comments on American interest policy under the management of the new US central banker, Kevin Warsh.
▶ In Brazil, the focus is on the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA) for June, scheduled for Friday (10). The expectation is that the indicator will show a slowdown, driven mainly by the drop in food prices.

New attacks in the Strait of Hormuz
The ceasefire agreed between the United States and Iran was once again in the spotlight, after two commercial ships and an oil tanker were hit by missiles in the Strait of Hormuz last Monday (6).
"An oil tanker reported having been hit by an unknown projectile on the port side, which caused a fire, while sailing towards the south", wrote the UKMTO in a statement.
The incident raises concerns about further retaliation from the United States and a new interruption in traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a channel through which around 20% of all oil trade in the world passes.
Already this Tuesday (7), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araqchi, criticized the American president, Donald Trump, and stated that there will be no more peace negotiations unless the American leader ceases his threats to restart the war.
According to Araqchi, the statements violate the terms of the memorandum of understanding reached last month to suspend the war.
Around 9 am, the barrel of Brent, an international reference, was operating at an increase of 1%, quoted at US$ 72.71. West Texas Intermediate (WTI), a US benchmark, advanced 0.90%, to US$69.17 a barrel. Despite the day's gains, oil prices remain below the most critical periods of the war.
Global markets
In Asia, most stock markets closed lower, driven by companies in the real estate sector and as investors await the minutes of the latest Fed meeting.
The CSI 300, which brings together the largest companies in Shanghai and Shenzen, fell 1.03%, while the Shanghai index, the SSEC, lost 1.26%.
In Japan, the Nikkei index fell 2.12%, while the South Korea's Kospi fell 4.91% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.51%.
