Dí Maria renews contract with rival Corinthians in the round of 16 of the Libertadores

During this Monday (29), Rosário Central, from Argentina, who will face Corinthians in the round of 16 of the Conmebol Libertadores, announced the renewal of the contract with Argentine star Dí Maria, 38 years old. His contract with the Argentine team had ended at the end of May and, since then, the parties have been negotiating a contract extension.
Since his return to Canallas, the club where he was revealed, he has accumulated 14 goals and seven assists in 37 matches. In the current season, there were seven goals and four passes for goals. In the group stage of the international competition, Rosário Central was second in Group H with 13 points - four wins, one draw and one defeat - nine goals scored and one conceded. The leader was Independiente Del Valle, from Ecuador, who scored the same number of points and had an advantage in the number of goals scored.

Corinthians, in turn, led Group E with 11 points - three wins, two draws and one defeat - eight goals scored and four conceded. The first game of the round of 16 between Timão and Rosário Central-ARG will take place on August 13th, in Buenos Aires, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time). The second game will be exactly one week later, at the same time, at Neo Química Arena.
In addition to Rosário Central and the Argentine national team, Dí Maria played for the following teams throughout his career: Benfica (Portugal - 2007/2008 to 2009/2010), Real Madrid (Spain - 2010/2011 to 2013/2014), Manchester United (England - 2014/2015), Paris Saint Germain (France - 2015/2016 to 2021/2022), Juventus (Italy - 2022/2023), Benfica (Portugal - 2023/2024 to 2024/2025).
