Develops: With authorized requests, government sees an outflow of R$ 3.9 billion from FGTS

The Board of Trustees of the FGTS (Service Time Guarantee Fund) reported this Tuesday (16) that 3.34 million workers joined the debt renegotiation program through Desenrola 2.0. As a result, the federal government estimates an outflow of R$3.88 billion from the fund for this purpose.

The expectation of the Ministry of Labor and Employment is that the program has the capacity to generate up to R$8.2 billion in FGTS resources.

The council's data shows that 7.18 million contracts were renegotiated through Desenrola, which indicates an average of two renegotiations per worker.

On average, the worker used R$604.73 of his FGTS balance in the debt renegotiation process. The worker can use up to R$1,000 or up to 20% of the fund balance to renegotiate their debt.

In May, the government released consultation on the FGTS through Desenrola. The forecast is that the first transfer of funds from the fund to the 33 financial institutions qualified to operate in the program will take place on June 25th.

Balance already reserved
According to the FGTS Board of Trustees, 17 thousand operations have already been registered with FGTS balance reserves. The total value of operations to date is R$10.3 million.

Nubank leads the ranking of operations already booked. The bank accounts for around 85.2% of operations, which total R$8.3 million. On average, the worker used R$568.45 of their FGTS balance to renegotiate their debts with the financial institution.
