Deolane has a panic attack in prison, reports show

Influencer and lawyer Deolane Bezerra currently suffers from panic syndrome inside the Tupi Paulista Women's Penitentiary, in the interior of São Paulo, according to a document from SAP (Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration).

According to reports gathered by the penitentiary management, Deolane reported fear of being alone at night and voluntarily requested to share the space with another inmate.

The information is contained in letters signed by the management of the Penal Complex used by the MPSP (Public Ministry of São Paulo) to defend that the Court denies the defendant's defense request to remain in the General Staff Room or under house arrest.

The prosecution used the document to maintain that Deolane had the option of being alone and still requested to share the cell with another inmate.

In the annexes there are statements written by the prisoners themselves to prove that Deolane asked to spend the night in room number 2, occupied by another prisoner, due to the fear she felt when the cell doors were locked.

Confrontations over the cell
The influencer's mental health status was used by SAP to refute a report from the OAB-SP (Brazilian Bar Association) that had reported overcrowding and rights violations in the Special Pavilion.

After inspecting the place, the OAB reported that the cells are tiny and house deteriorated mattresses, sheets with a strong musty odor, wasp nests and even scorpions.

The entity also pointed out that the penitentiary instituted humiliating and humiliating strip searches, with squats and complete removal of clothes, shortly after Deolane's arrival at the unit.

The prison management guaranteed that the house has 7.26 m² (above the legal limit of 6 m²) and confirmed that the place undergoes continuous pest control every 40 days.

"The OAB SP acts to guarantee respect for professional prerogatives, such as retirement in the General Staff Room, only when this assistance is requested by the lawyer in question or by his defense, which actually happened in Deolane's case, unlike the others mentioned by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Therefore, the insinuation that the entity favors this professional over others or that it chooses which lawyers to assist can only be the result of ignorance of their performance or bad faith."

Trial of the influencer
The virtual trial of yet another request for habeas corpus from the lawyer began this Monday (6) and is expected to end next week, on July 15.

Deolane is accused of money laundering and being part of the criminal organization of the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital).

According to Operation Vérnix investigations, the influencer worked to hide illicit resources through fractional deposits linked to a front transport company in Presidente Venceslau.

Before the court accepted the complaint, the judge denied a non-criminal prosecution agreement, as the combined sentences exceeded four years and there was no confession.

As a direct consequence of the process, the Court ordered the freezing of more than R$27 million from Deolane's accounts and the hijacking of luxury vehicles registered in the name of his company, including a Lamborghini Huracan EVO, a Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, a Cadillac Escalade and a BMW X1.

Suspension at OAB
The influencer's situation worsened even further after OAB-SP preventively suspended her professional registration, preventing her from practicing law for an initial period of 90 days, extendable for up to 360 days.

The STJ (Superior Court of Justice) and the TJSP (São Paulo Court of Justice) denied new requests for habeas corpus. The lawyers argued that there was too much time and the need for house arrest so that she could take care of her 12-year-old daughter.

However, the judges rejected the requests, even citing the period in which she was voluntarily confined to a reality show, in 2022, as a counterpoint.

The lawyer's sister, Dayanne Bezerra, refuted the decision on social media, classifying the maintenance of the prison as "inhumane" and arguing that one cannot compare working on television with preventive incarceration.
