Dentist arrested for performing irregular cosmetic surgeries in Goiás

The PCGO (Civil Police of Goiás) launched an operation, this Thursday (28), to arrest a dentist being investigated for carrying out irregular aesthetic and surgical procedures in Setor Bueno, in Goiânia. During the action, the aesthetic clinic was closed.

Operation Risk Protovolo was carried out through the 4th Police District of Goiânia of the 1st DRP (Regional Police Station) with support from the Health Surveillance. A preventive arrest warrant, two search and seizure warrants and the seizure of assets worth R$600,000 were served.

According to PCGO, the investigation was initiated after complaints from several patients at the clinic since 2023, who reported severe complications after carrying out procedures, some with serious physical and psychological damage.

Among the damages presented by the victims are infections, deformities, fibrosis, necrosis and permanent scars, which were noticed after surgeries in an inadequate environment and without the necessary structure. Seven victims had severe deformities.

The police gathered statements from these patients, who reported long procedures, some lasting more than 12 hours, carried out with anesthesia and in a common dental room, without an ICU nearby.

According to Delegate Wladimir Freire, the surgeries performed were invasive, such as in the nose and cheek areas. The clinic does not have adequate sanitary conditions, there are flaws in the sterilization of materials and there is not sufficient anesthetic monitoring.

Searches were carried out at the clinic and other addresses linked to the investigation to seize documents, electronic devices, contracts, medical records, equipment and other materials of interest to investigate the case.

Also according to PCGO, the preventive arrest warrant was served due to the seriousness of the facts, to stop illicit activities and preserve evidence.

The businesswoman and dentist was arrested and taken to the headquarters of the 4th Police District. During the health inspection, one of the members tried to hide products used in the Health Surveillance procedures, and was also taken to the police station to record her arrest in the act on suspicion of procedural fraud.
