Death toll from earthquakes in Venezuela rises to 3,342, says government

At least 3,342 people died due to earthquakes recorded in Venezuela, according to the country's Ministry of Information.

The latest death toll represents an increase of 388 people from the previous update, although critics point out that the numbers are an underestimate.

The U.S. Geological Survey said there is a high probability that the final total will exceed 10,000 deaths.
