"It was a fatality", says instructor
In his statement, Luis Felipe classified what happened as a "fatality" and stated that the team has been working in the area for around a year.

According to him, rope jumping does not have specific regulations in Brazil, which eliminates the need for formal authorizations, depending only on the experience of the instructors.

Felipe reported that all the previous jumps of the day were inspected and that he cannot understand what happened at the time of the accident. "It's something that we still don't understand," he told the police.

He stated that the procedure for placing the rope is standard for all sports and that the team had never recorded accidents before.

The dynamics of the accident
The investigation indicates that Maria Eduarda would perform the first jump of the "little plane" modality of the day, in which the practitioner is lifted and thrown by the instructors.

Audiovisual records provided by witnesses confirm that the young woman was thrown into a free fall from a height of approximately 30 meters, without any connection to the rope system.

The delegate responsible for the case considered that those involved assumed the risk of causing death by not adopting essential precautions in a high-risk activity.

The court converted the arrest into preventative arrest, based on the dangerousness of the conduct and the need to guarantee public order.

The case remains under investigation by the Limeira Sectional Police Station.
