"Deadly Kilos": remember the tragic fate of Coliesa, who weighed 292 kg
Coliesa McMillian had suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 39 and, two years later, decided to change her life, she sought help from the reality show "Deadly Kilos", weighing 292 kilos and fearing that she would not survive a new collapse.
Unlike other patients who see Dr. Now, the show's doctor, who need to lose weight before undergoing bariatric surgery, she underwent the procedure immediately, as they feared she wouldn't survive that long.
In the episode "Quilos Mortais", it is said that Coliesa faced a difficult childhood with an alcoholic father, in addition to having developed family traumas that accompanied her throughout her life.
Her situation worsened when she lost her fiancé in a car accident, and one of her strategies for coping with her grief was eating.
Due to her almost 300 kilos, her mobility was compromised, making her completely dependent on her sister, niece and daughters.
A few months after his story was broadcast on television, Coliesa passed away and the TLC channel, owner of the attraction, paid condolences to the family on its social networks.
According to a Facebook post by her niece, Blair Shelton, she suffered a cardiac arrest in the hospital, after being admitted due to one of the bariatric surgery sutures breaking and developing sepsis.
TLC is saddened to learn of the loss of Coliesa McMillian, who shared her story on My 600lb Life. Our deepest condolences to her family at this difficult time.
