Although Brazilians are increasingly familiar with artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT and Claude, the fear that technology will replace jobs has decreased, according to a Datafolha survey released this Saturday (27).
Among people who have heard of AI, 48% say they are very or somewhat afraid of losing their profession to technology. A year ago, this percentage was 56%. The proportion of those who say they have no fear increased from 41% to 49%.

At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence at work has also grown. Among those interviewed who know the technology, 24% say they use it in professional activities, compared to 17% last year.
The survey also points to the use of AI for internet research (25%), studies (17%) and creating images and videos (4%). The survey was carried out by Datafolha on June 17th and 18th, with 2,004 people aged 16 or over, in 139 Brazilian municipalities.
The margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus. On the other hand, interviewees demonstrate resistance to the use of artificial intelligence in decisions that directly affect people's lives.
Research shows that 79% consider the use of AI in hiring and firing processes inappropriate. Furthermore, 68% reject technology for decisions about medical treatments, and 67% are against its use in granting credit.
