Cultural Turn in the East Zone will have Thiaguinho, Hariel and Michel Teló
The East Zone of São Paulo takes center stage in the 21st edition of Virada Cultural, on the 23rd and 24th of May, with one of the largest shares of the event's decentralized programming.
Renamed "The Festival of Festivals", the event of 24 consecutive hours of free shows will spread big names in national music - such as pagodeiro Thiaguinho, pop singer Luísa Sonza and country singer Michel Teló - across five large stages set up in neighborhoods and parks in the region.
Parque do Carmo, in Itaquera, appears as one of the highlights of the program on Sunday (24), hosting the region's main attraction, singer Thiaguinho, at 4pm.
Mix of rhythms shakes up the region's arenas
To democratize access and avoid large trips towards the center of the capital, the Municipal Department of Culture set up complete structures in different sub-prefectures, casting major artists for the line-up:
- São Miguel Paulista Stage: located on Avenida Deputado Doutor José Aristodemo Pinotti, the space hosts on Saturday (23) the tecnobrega by Banda Djavu and, on Sunday (24), it closes its program with performances by Léo Maia, Latino and the pop show by Luísa Sonza at 4:30 pm.
- Guaianases Stage: Michel Teló's country singer closes the arena on Sunday at 4:30 pm, which will also have the Doce Encontro pagoda. On Saturday (23), the highlights are the pop of Vitor Kley and rapper MC Hariel.
- Sapopemba Stage: focused on rap and reggae, the arena on Avenida Arquiteto Vilanova Artigas brings on Saturday the rhyme of MV Bill and the pagode of the group Turma do Pagode. Sunday will be led by reggae bands Mato Seco, Onze:20 and former O Rappa Marcelo Falcão.
- Cidade Tiradentes Stage: the neighborhood's cultural center receives on Saturday the rap beats of Yunk Vino and the DJ project Discopédia, closing Sunday with a mix of rock and samba by the group Sambô.
- Belém Stage: Largo São José do Belém was the location chosen to concentrate the region's gospel music program on Sunday (24), welcoming names such as Cassiane, Eyshila, Sarah Farias and Ton Carfi.
