Court orders temporary arrest of suspect of shooting Rota lieutenant

The São Paulo Court ordered this Friday (3) the temporary arrest of the man identified as suspected of shooting Rota (Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar) lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos. In the decision, the magistrate ordered the suspect's arrest for 30 days.

On Thursday morning (2), the Civil Police had already requested the temporary arrest of the suspect, identified as Hércules da Costa Siqueira, known as "Golias".

According to the police, Hércules was on the motorcycle that followed the soldier and then shot the lieutenant in the head. To date, two suspects involved in the crime have been temporarily arrested.

In the document obtained by CNN Brasil, in addition to ordering Hércules' arrest, the magistrate also decreed the breaking of Hércules' telephone confidentiality and authorized search and seizure warrants at two addresses linked to the one being investigated.

Remember the case
The attack against the officer occurred last Saturday morning (27), on Avenida Goiás, in São Caetano do Sul. Ronickson was off duty, in civilian clothes and had just left a gym.

Ronickson is the older brother of Eloá Pimentel, a 15-year-old girl who was murdered in 2008 by her ex-boyfriend Lindemberg Alves, after being held hostage for more than 100 hours and a case of great repercussion in the press.

Ronickson Pimentel is hospitalized in serious condition in the ICU of the Mário Covas State Hospital, in Santo André, in ABC Paulista. According to the latest update on his health status, he has stable intracranial pressure, preserved renal function, no fever and is intubated on mechanical ventilation.

Monitoring before the attack
A survey obtained by CNN Brasil showed that the attack against Rota (Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar) lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos, aged 39, was preceded by a period of monitoring the victim's routine, shot last Saturday (27).

The report from São Caetano do Sul City Hall shows that the vehicle used as support by the criminals was recorded 96 times circulating in areas frequented by the police officer before the attack.

According to Raiss (Smart Sanca Intelligent Analysis Report), the car, a white Renault Logan, had its first passage through the municipality recorded on February 14th. The analysis of the travel pattern identified recurring routes considered compatible with possible prior monitoring of the officer's routine.

Death of suspect

Still on Thursday, a man identified by the Military Police as a member of the PCC (First Command of the Capital) and suspected of involvement in the attack on the lieutenant, was killed during a police action in Peruíbe, on the south coast of São Paulo.

According to the police report, Rota teams were carrying out efforts to locate a suspect known as "Galego", identified as a member of the criminal organization and with alleged participation in the attack on the officer.

Also according to the record, the driver tried to flee, triggering a police follow-up that ended on Cuiabá Street, in the Ribamar neighborhood. According to the BO, there was a confrontation during the attempted approach.

The suspect was shot and taken to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in Peruíbe, but he succumbed to his injuries.
