Court denies São Paulo MP's request for preventive arrest of Oruam
The São Paulo Court denied the request for preventive detention of rapper Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, known as Oruam, requested by the state Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the criminal action in which the artist is responsible for shooting a firearm.
In the decision, the defendant has already been formally summoned through a lawyer appointed in the process, which would demonstrate awareness of the criminal action and submission to the judicial process.
"Such a situation removes, at least at this moment, any concrete indication of an intention to evade the application of criminal law or to harm the procedural progress", wrote the magistrate when denying preventive detention.
The request had been made by prosecutor Alan Carlos Reis Silva and was made public on Wednesday (20).
According to the Public Ministry, Oruam is responsible for a firearm shot during a party in Igaratá, in December 2024.
The episode was filmed and published on social media. At the time, the artist was indicted by the Civil Police for firing a firearm after, according to the investigation, putting people at risk.

Who is Oruam
Son of Marcinho VP - appointed as one of the leaders of the faction - and nephew of Elias Pereira da Silva, Elias Maluco, killer of journalist Tim Lopes, Oruam has tattoos in honor of both of them. Despite this, he always denied participation in criminal activities.
Oruam gained notoriety in 2022 with the release of the song "Invejoso", joining Orochi's record label Mainstreet. Since then, he has accumulated hits and taken to the stages of major festivals, such as Rock in Rio and Lollapalooza, in 2024.
On social media, he usually shows off jewelry, luxury cars, parties and even a Savannah F1 cat, valued at up to R$100,000. In the same year of his initial success, Oruam was elected "Trap Revelation" by the Sobre Funk portal. Raised in Cidade de Deus, west of Rio, he started recording music in 2021. He is the son of Márcia Gama and has four brothers.
