Couple arrested after killing woman for selling cell phones in DF

A couple was arrested this Friday morning (26), after killing a 35-year-old woman, on May 13, in their home in Samambaia, in the Federal District.

The man and woman, both 24 years old, were indicted for "double homicide for a base motive and using a resource that made it difficult for the victim to defend himself."

The Civil Police carried out preventive arrest and search and seizure warrants issued by the Jury Court.

Crime dynamics
According to investigations, the crime could be related to a disagreement related to the sale of cell phones of illicit origin. The couple would have given several cell phones to the victim to sell in the center of Ceilândia.

However, she would have kept part of the amount acquired from sales and used it to buy drugs. It was after this action that those investigated decided to charge the victim violently.

According to police witnesses, the woman was knocked down and was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on, mainly to the head and chest. The victim also received a knife blow, which was taken from his hands, in the leg.

"Even though he was lying down and unable to react, the victim continued to be brutally attacked by the couple being investigated," said the police.

The woman was taken to the Ceilândia Regional Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries and died three days after the events, on the 16th.

The forensic reports concluded that the victim died as a result of chest trauma and pulmonary thromboembolism caused by the attacks.

Couple's background
According to the police, the man investigated has an extensive criminal record, including simple and qualified reception, criminal organization, circumstantial robbery and invasion of a telematic device.

It also has three detailed terms for the crime of possession of drugs for personal consumption and two procedures for investigating an infraction for practices similar to the crimes of simple and negligent reception.

The indicted woman has two police investigations in her name for the crimes of criminal association and reception, in addition to two detailed terms, for disobedience and possession of drugs for personal consumption.
