Correios records a loss of R$3.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to report
The Post Office recorded a loss of R$3.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to a balance released by the state-owned company this weekend.
The loss in the first three months of this year is 82.3% greater than that seen in the same period last year, when the state-owned company recorded a loss of R$ 1.7 billion.
Preliminary balance anticipated by g1 in April this year already showed that the post office would have a loss of over R$ 3 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
In the entire year 2025, the loss was R$ 8.5 billion and the forecast for 2026 is an even worse result in the accounts, according to the state-owned company's own calculations.
The Post Office has taken a series of measures to clean up the accounts and plans to reach a surplus only in 2027.
